Jo Garay Associate Editor, Writer

Yes. I've been a barista and ran a coffee shop. And, I've run the front desk of a historic, boutique hotel. And I graduated in film production and screenwriting. What a combination, but here's what it adds up to: every role has made the audience the focus. Whether you create the best ever lavender latte, secure reservations for a guest to a sold out restaurant, entertain with a comedic short film, you're connecting with a human. Keep the audience and reader enthused and engaged so they feel good and the brand earns favorable results. That's pretty fabulous.

As an associate editor, my content work has spanned editing fiction, writing blog content and corporate biographies, articles, product descriptions for websites, video scripts, pitching stories, contributing to branding projects for clients across education, home goods, health, wellness, mental health, lifestyle, global human resources consulting and the performing arts.  I'm currently adding to my professional expertise with certifications in digital project management and analytics. Here are some of my recent writing contributions.

Paranormal, Weird

It's Not Your Imagination. It's a Ghost.

I do believe in ghosts. I don’t believe a soul can be trapped on earth, but rather we leave echoes, echoes of moments that last long after we’ve gone. At least that’s what I thought I’d believed. Had I not believed in ghosts, it only took the summer I turned 19 to make me question that my theory of echoes is perhaps not a theory after all.  READ MORE...
